Long & Foster undergoes a leadership shake-up

There have been a lot of executive team changes at Coldwell Banker, eXp Realty and Long & Foster Companies over the past few weeks.
According to a Tuesday announcement, Long & Foster Companies, which are part of HomeServices of America, and the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate has named Patrick Bain the CEO and president of Long & Foster Companies. Jackie Thiel will be the president of Long & Foster Real Estate.
Blefari posted on LinkedIn that Jackie and Patrick are well-known for their innovation spirit and bring a wealth of industry knowledge and insights. “They are dynamic leaders and together with their talented sales managers, dedicated staff, and agents they are ready to take Long & Foster on the next level of growth.”
Bain joined Long & Foster as a 2010 president. He also served as the president of Long & Foster Insurance and HomeServices Property Management, Insight Home Inspections, and Long & Foster Rental Service Center. Bain also has more than three decades of experience working in the real-estate industry.
It’s an honor to be the leader of The Long & Foster Companies. Bain stated that they are ready and able to build on the organization’s strong foundation, financial stability and commitment to ensuring success of our agents and employees as we move forward together. “This business is all about our 8,500+ agents and employees. It is a privilege to work with people who are so committed towards our strong brand and culture every day.”
Thiel has been a part of Long & Foster’s leadership team since 1998. He has held many leadership positions, including the most recent as executive vice president.
Thiel stated that Long & Foster will be listening to its team and leveraging their input in order to define the next chapter. “Our company is a market-leading company because of its exceptional real estate agents, employees, and strengthened company collaboration will allow us to continue providing the best support and service to our customers and our team.”
These announcements were made just days after Jeff Detwiler, Long & Foster Companies’ CEO, and Larry “Boomer”, Foster, the president of Long & Foster Real Estate resigned. Detwiler was with Long & Foster almost 14 years while Foster had been there for 17 years.
The firm also mourns the loss of Wesley Foster, its co-founder, who died last Friday at the ripe old age of 89.
